This privacy & GDPR policy sets out how Skwigly uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website.

Skwigly is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

Website form submissions (including: Advertise with us, Write for us, Competitions, Submit press release, Event submission forms)

This data is emailed to one of the Skwigly email address which is hosted with Gmail. Additionally, each form submission will be backed up in our website database, using the Gravity Forms (WordPress) plugin. Every 6 months, we delete the backed up version in our website database. The only version which is kept after this will be the one sent to the Gmail account.

Skwigly User Account (required for Showcase submissions):

A user account can be created at any time; it will allow a user access to hidden parts and features of the site, and is required if submitting a film to the showcase. (It was also required for our now defunct chatroom). We store this data on our secure web server. This data will be stored indefinitely, unless the user requests us to delete their data.


We use ‘Mailster‘ a WordPress-based newsletter plugin, to collect names and emails from users who opt-in to subscribe to our newsletter. Subscriber data is hosted on our secure web server. This data will be stored indefinitely, unless the user unsubscribes or requests us to delete their data.


We collect the following personal information:

  • Biographical information
  • URLs to your work and online profiles (websites, portfolios, blogs, social media pages)

Any personal data we hold at Skwigly will have been supplied at some point by the third party via a web form, account sign up, or newsletter sign up. We have only ever used this data within our company for incoming project enquiries, incoming job enquiries or marketing our news and services to people. We have never supplied this data to anyone else and have no intentions to in the future.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  1. To provide you with a product, service or information that you have inquired about
  2. We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  3. We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
